WITHDRAWALS UNDER NATIONAL PENSION SCHEME TO BE TAX-FREE
தேசிய ஓய்வூதிய திட்டத்தின் கீழ் வரி இலவசமாக வழங்கப்படும்
2018 டிசம்பர் 6 ஆம் தேதி அதன் கூட்டத்தில் மத்திய அமைச்சரவை ஓய்வூதியத் திட்டம் "வரி இலவசம்" என்ற நேரத்தில் தேசிய ஓய்வூதிய திட்டத்தின் சந்தாதாரர்களால் செய்யப்பட்ட பணத்தை திரும்பப் பெற்றுள்ளது.
வெளியேறும் போது மொத்தமாக திரும்பப் பெறும் வரி விலக்கு வரம்பு 60% ஆக அதிகரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இதனுடன் மொத்த வருவாய் இப்போது வருமான வரி விலக்கு விதிக்கப்படும். (தற்போது, மொத்தம் திரட்டப்பட்ட மொத்தச் செலவினத்தில் 40% ஏற்கனவே வரி விலக்கு அளிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. ஓய்வுபெற்ற நேரத்தில் NPS சந்தாதாரர் மூலம் திரட்டப்பட்ட 60 சதவிகிதத்தில், 40% வரி விலக்கு மற்றும் இருப்பு 20% ஆகும் வரி.)
தவிர, ஓய்வூதிய நிதி ஒழுங்குமுறை மற்றும் மேம்பாட்டு ஆணையத்தால் நிர்வகிக்கப்படும் என்.பி.எஸ்-ன் இரண்டாம்-இரண்டாம் பிரிவின் பங்களிப்புகள் இப்போது வருமான வரிச் சட்டத்தின் 80-க்கும் கீழ் ரூ .1.5 லட்சம் வரை வரி விலக்கு பெறுவதற்கு தகுதியுடையவையாகும். பொதுச் சாசன நிதியம், பங்களிப்பு வதிவிட நிதியம், ஊழியர் சேமலாப நிதியம் மற்றும் பொதுச் சாசன நிதியம் போன்ற மற்ற திட்டங்களுடனும் மூன்று ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ஒரு பூட்டுக் காலம் உள்ளது. பரஸ்பர நிதிகள் இயற்கையில் இயல்பானதாகவும், எப்போது வேண்டுமானாலும் திரும்பப் பெற அனுமதிப்பதற்கும் கட்டணம் செலுத்துகின்றன. வரி 2 கணக்குகளில் முதலீடுகள் முந்தைய வரி விலக்கு அனுமதி இல்லை.

The Union Cabinet in its Meeting on 6th December, 2018 has approved withdrawals made by subscribers of the National Pension Scheme at the time of retirement “ Tax free”.
Tax exemption limit for lump sum withdrawal on exit has been enhanced to 60%. With this, the entire withdrawal will now be exempt from income tax. (At present, 40% of the total accumulated corpus utilized for purchase of annuity is already tax exempted. Out of 60% of the accumulated corpus withdrawn by the NPS subscriber at the time of retirement, 40% is tax exempt and balance 20% is taxable.)
Besides, the contributions under tier-II of NPS, which is regulated by Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, will now be eligible for tax exemption up to Rs 1.5 lakh available under 80-C of the Income Tax Act.This will be at par with other schemes such as General Provident Fund, Contributory Provident Fund, Employees Provident Fund and Public Provident Fund, provided there is a lock-in period of three years. Tier-2 accounts are voluntary in nature and function like mutual funds, permitting withdrawal anytime. Investments in tier-2 accounts weren’t earlier allowed tax exemption.
