Unreserved Railway Ticket Booking

This is for your information that registration for Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) Service has been launched through Digital Seva Portal.



 Now VLE can Register for UTS service through given URL  https://registration.csc.gov.in/cscservices/Services/UTS/content.aspx and the registration amount is Rs. 5000/- and total expenditure is Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lac) approximately. The Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) will be adjusted against total expenditure.

The broad terms & Conditions for becoming an UTS agent are as under:

1. CSC’s must be within 3KM radius of Railway Station.

2. Applicant should apply for one location only and application for more than one location will not be accepted from a single applicant.

3. The premises where CSC wants to open the ticket office must be easily accessible to the general public.

4. Installation expense and the cost of equipment, i.e. Router, Dumb terminal, Ticket Printer, Report Printer, Networking Panel etc and its transportation will have to be borne by the applicant. Terminal server connectivity charges including cost of hardware will be approx Rs. 1, 00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Only). The cost will have to borne by the applicant.

5. The CSC will have to maintain the records of all the tickets issued by them and will have provide it’s on a daily basis.

6. Rs.5000/- (Rupees Five Thousands) shall be charged as registration fee which will be adjusted at the time of deployment of the hardware.

Government of India encourages people to move towards a Cashless Economy. This can be achieved by use of debit, credit cards, electronic payment gateway systems such Immediate Payment Service (IMPS), National Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT) and Real Time Gross settlement (RTGS) in India. 

The advantages to citizens of a country in a Cashless Economy are:
  • Risk of loss of cash while carrying is avoided
  • Facilitate exact payment and reduce transaction costs
  • Convenience in payment and management of utility bills, purchases and other financial transactions.
  • It helps to authenticate financial transactions and maintain proper record facilitating better tax compliance and increasing tax base.
  • Digital payments indirectly reduces expenditure by reducing need for printing of currency notes and its transportation
  • Electronic transactions helps in curbing corruption and black money flow, thereby helping in economic growth of the country
  • Lesser use of cash prevents money laundering and better tax compliance
  • Increased tax base would result in greater revenue for public welfare activities

Indian Railways offers cashless ticketing option to its customer through internet ticketing on IRCTC website for booking reserved tickets. More than 58% of the train accommodation is reserved through e-ticketing. IRCTC also provides option for purchasing Season Tickets for suburban train services on Western and Central Railways. Facility for purchasing unreserved tickets through mobile phone is available at DELHI, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Secunderabad. Further Automatic Ticket Vending Machines dispensing unreserved tickets using smart cards are provided at over 1000 locations over CR, ER, ECoR, NR, NER, NWR, SR, SCR, SER, SECR, SWR, WR and WCR. The Smart Cards can be purchased from nominated counters at the stations.
